The First Responder Whiskey Society has partnered with the Baton Rouge Union of Police to release this memorial bottle for fallen Baton Rouge Police Department Sergeant David Poirrier and Corporal Scotty Canezaro. Our charity will donate 100% of the net proceeds to their families via the Baton Rouge Union of Police.
Sergeant David Poirrier and Corporal Scotty Canezaro were killed in a helicopter crash in a field off North Winterville Road, near U.S. 190 at Erwinville, at about 2:26 am.
The crew of the Robinson R-44 helicopter was sent to assist in the pursuit of a fleeing vehicle around 2 am. While in flight, the helicopter's tail rotor struck a tree before crashing into a field.
The suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of manslaughter.
Sergeant Poirrier had served with the Baton Rouge Police Department for 17 years and was assigned to the Air Support Unit. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
Corporal Canezaro had served with the Baton Rouge Police Department for 16 years and was assigned to the Air Support Unit. He is survived by his wife, son, mother, and nieces.
This commemorative bottle of whiskey has been created by Liberty Call Distilling in San Diego California. The company is marine owned and a friend to all first responders. The bottle boasts superior quality work compared to other engravings because it is sandblasted, not just etched. The whiskey is a delicious straight bourbon aged a minimum of 3 years, then double aged for a minimum of 6 months in small charred oak barrels.
The bottles can be shipped across the United States except for the restricted states of Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, and Utah.
Please allow 7 to 10 business days for processing and 3 to 5 business days for shipping as each bottle is custom-made per order.
